When it comes to sleek and powerful British supercars, McLaren is among the most legendary names in the business. The Woking-based company has a vast lineup of exotic and hypercars, but it also offers something for those with less of a budget. That’s because McLaren recently introduced a line of ‘affordable’ models that open the brand to more potential customers.
The newest entry is the McLaren GT, which is based on the company’s Sports Series platform. The GT is designed to tackle grand touring duties while still offering plenty of heart-pounding performance. It can accelerate from 0-60 in just three seconds and has a top speed of 199 mph.
Interested buyers can expect to pay somewhere between $184,900 and $2 million for a new McLaren GT. That’s quite a range, but it all depends on which specific model you pick. For example, the cheapest McLaren is the 570S, which debuted in 2015. It’s powered by the same twin-turbocharged V-8 found in the previous 12C, but it makes an extra 33 horsepower and can hit 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.
If you’re willing to spend a little more, there’s the 720S. This is another ‘affordable’ McLaren that debuted in 2021. It’s powered by the same twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8, but it makes an extra 25 horsepower and can accelerate to 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds. The 720S is one of the most popular McLaren’s for sale because it’s a great blend of performance and affordability.
Moving up the price ladder, there’s the McLaren P1. This spiritual successor to the F1 is the fastest McLaren ever made. It can reach speeds of up to 240.1 mph and was the world’s fastest production car when it was first built in the 1990s. If you’re interested in buying a McLaren P1, you’ll need to set aside about $2 million.
The highest-end McLaren for sale is the Speedtail, which was unveiled in 2021. It’s the company’s first-ever Hyper-GT and is its most aerodynamically efficient car to date. It’s capable of hitting speeds of up to 250 mph and offers both heart-pounding performance and all-out luxury. A 2020 Speedtail will cost you around $2 million.
